Afridi has a world record that no player has ever broken

Lahore: Shahid Afridi is celebrating his 45th birthday on March 1. There is a special record in his name which no player in the world has been able to break to date.

Shahid Afridi has played 27 Tests, 398 ODIs, and 99 T20I matches. He was also part of the team that won the T20 Cup in 2009. He set the record for the fastest ODI century in his first ODI innings.

He is the only player in the world to hit 351 sixes in ODIs. Speaking of ODI cricket, 2608 players have come on the field so far but no one has reached Afridi’s record. West Indies’ Chris Gayle is second with 331 sixes.

On October 4, 1996, Shahid Afridi set a record for the fastest ODI century against Sri Lanka by scoring a century off 37 balls in Nairobi.

He hit six fours and eleven sixes in this innings. He became an overnight star after this innings, although his record was later broken by New Zealand’s Corey Anderson.
