Five policemen killed, three injured in two separate incidents in Afghanistan

Zabul: Five policemen were killed and three others injured in two separate incidents in Zabul and Uruzgan provinces of Afghanistan.

Confirming the attack, the Zabul police chief said the Taliban attacked a police checkpoint on the highway last night and police retaliated. The police chief claimed that two Taliban were killed and three others were injured in retaliation.


Meanwhile, a remote-controlled bomb hit a patrolling police vehicle in Uruzgan Province, killing one policeman and injuring another. A spokesman for the provincial governor confirmed the attack, saying no group had claimed responsibility.
