Lord Wajid Khan of Pakistani origin will take oath in the House of Lords today

LONDON: Lord Wajid Khan of Burnley will be sworn in at the House of Lords today at 12 noon UK time. He hails from Gujarat, Pakistan, and is also active in Pakistani issues and Kashmir’s independence.

Lord Wajid Khan was a former member of the European Parliament and is currently serving as the youngest mayor of Burnley.

In a telephone conversation with Daily Pakistan, Wajid Khan said that it would be a historic day for me to have the honor of sitting in the House of Lords. I am thankful to Allah Almighty for this. And I will continue to work on climate change, education, and gender equality, including human rights, and will make every effort to further strengthen Pakistan-UK relations.
