Middle East: The United Arab Emirates has approved the establishment of an embassy in Israel

The UAE cabinet has approved the establishment of an embassy in the Israeli capital, Tel Aviv.

According to the state-run Wam news agency, the UAE embassy will be the country’s first diplomatic mission to Israel. The news has also been released from the official Twitter account of the United Arab Emirates.

The decision was made during a cabinet meeting chaired by UAE Vice President and Ruler of Dubai Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Sunday.

The decision is part of a series of practical steps to normalize relations between the UAE and Israel under a US-sponsored agreement
