ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed a petition seeking an early hearing of the appeals of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The court has declared Nawaz Sharif a fugitive. According to details, significant progress has been made in the case of appeals of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Avenfield and Azizia reference in the Islamabad High Court. NAB has filed a petition to set Nawaz Sharif’s appeals for hearing soon.
The NAB has taken a stand in the petition that Nawaz Sharif’s Avenfield, Azizia, and Flagship reference appeals be fixed soon. The High Court has declared Nawaz Sharif guilty of non-appearance.
The High Court also raised some legal questions. The NAB has prepared its response and is ready for judicial assistance. The court had raised the question of what would be the future of the appeals of Nawaz Sharif was declared.
The Supreme Court has issued instructions to hear corruption cases on a daily basis. Appeals in Avonfield and Azizia references are also related to mega corruption. Appeals should be heard soon to meet the requirements of justice. It should be noted that PML-N leader and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is in London for treatment of his illness. On the other hand, NAB has handed over the additional responsibility of DG NAB Multan to Noman Aslam, Director NAB Multan. In a statement issued on Wednesday, Noman Aslam, Director NAB (BPS-20) has been assigned the responsibilities of Director General NAB Multan.
