Nuclear deal: Iran refuses to negotiate

Iran has refused to negotiate with other countries involved in the 2015 nuclear deal with the US.

Tehran has stated that it will not attend any meeting to consider the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) or the Iran nuclear deal until sanctions on it are lifted. ۔

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzada said: “First, the United States should return to the nuclear deal and lift the illegal sanctions on Iran, which do not require any negotiations. But will return.

On the other hand, in response to Iran’s statements, Washington says that the United States is disappointed but it is still ready to start diplomacy.

A White House spokesman said: “While we are disappointed with Iran’s response, we are still able to resume meaningful diplomacy so as to reciprocate the promises made under the JCPOA. ‘

It should be noted that in 2018, former President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew the United States from the agreement, while Biden expressed his desire to resume talks with a group of six countries, including Iran, to restore the agreement.
