Operation at Allama Iqbal International Airport Drugs worth crores of rupees recovered

LAHORE: Anti-Narcotics Force Punjab has foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs in and out of the country by taking action against drug dealers.

During a search of Allama Iqbal International Airport cargo, crores of drugs were recovered from suspicious parcels. The heroin was skillfully concealed in belts and ladies’ clothes. The parcel was booked for Amir Zubair in England under the name of Muhammad Jamil, a resident of Sialkot, while the other parcel was booked under the name of Nazia Parveen, a resident of Gujranwala, London Ahmed.

In the third operation, drugs were recovered during an operation on Shadbagh Underpass Ring Road in Lahore while the fourth operation took place near Harnoli turn on MM Road in Mianwali. Where drugs were found during the search.
The drugs seized included about 98,920 grams of heroin, 1,200 kilograms of ice and 55 kilograms of hashish. The accused, identified as Momin, a resident of South Waziristan, and Abdul Rauf, a resident of Shah Meera, Lahore, were arrested. Further investigation is underway.
