Pakistan wants peace and prosperity in Afghanistan

Monday: Addressing the Heart of Asia Conference, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan wants peace and prosperity in Afghanistan and is concerned about the rising incidence of violence in Afghanistan.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the Afghan peace process is facing various challenges, Afghans have been informing about those who are affecting the peace process, Pakistan has played a role in continuing the Afghan peace process.

The Foreign Minister said that constructive dialogue and consultation on all important aspects of the peace process has become indispensable, the withdrawal of troops should be done in an orderly manner to ensure a reduction in violence in Afghanistan, and a ceasefire agreement should be reached as soon as possible Change to a permanent solution to the problem.

He said that the international community should ensure the assistance provided after the peace agreement in Afghanistan. Despite the coronavirus, we have opened 5 border crossing points to facilitate bilateral and transit trade.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi met with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in Dushanbe. Pak-Afghan relations, the Afghan peace process, and issues of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.

Pakistan is a partner in peace efforts in the region for which peace in Afghanistan is essential. There is concern over the rising incidence of violence in Afghanistan. Pakistan supports a political solution to the Afghan problem through comprehensive dialogue.
