MADRID: Protests against the arrest of Spanish singer Pablo Hazel continued for a fifth day. Clashes broke out between police and protesters.

Large numbers of people took to the streets in the capital, Madrid, while thousands protested and looted in Barcelona.

Protesters smashed shop windows and looted goods, during which police shelled protesters.

Pablo Hazel is known for his anti-establishment songs. The arrested singer is accused of criticizing the royal family.
