PSL 6: Zalmi defeated Multan Sultans by 6 wickets

In the fifth match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Peshawar Zalmi defeated Multan Sultans by 6 wickets.

Peshawar Zalmi scored a 194-run target for Multan Sultans in the 19th over to clinch their first victory in the event.

In this match being played at the National Stadium in Karachi, Peshawar Zalmi decided to field first after winning the toss against Multan Sultans.

Multan Sultans took full advantage of the batting conditions and set a big target for Peshawar Zalmi.

Chris Lane failed again at the start of the innings and Zalmai’s Muhammad Irfan showed him the way to the pavilion only after scoring a run.

In such a situation, Mohammad Rizwan along with James Venus provided an 82-run partnership to the team, where Rizwan himself caught Imam-ul-Haq on an easy ball.

James Venus’s unbeaten run continued and now Sohaib Maqsood was with him who played an innings of 36 runs and his turn was ended by Saqib Mahmood.

James Venus and Sohaib Maqsood formed a 71-run partnership, but after this partnership, Riley Russo stood on the wicket with James.

Realizing his presence this season, James Venus played brilliant innings of 84 off 55 balls and took the team to 193 total.

In pursuit of the target, Peshawar Zalmi’s team batted cautiously and achieved the target on the last ball of the 19th over at a loss of 4 wickets.
