Lahore: In the 13th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021, Karachi Kings defeated Zalmi. Zalmi was defeated due to drop catches. Muhammad Nabi and Babar Azam played victorious innings.
In pursuit of the target of 189 runs, Karachi Kings did not have a good start. Already on the first ball of the over, the team’s opener Sharjeel Khan became LBW on the ball of young fast bowler Mohammad Imran. Joey Clarke also failed to play big innings and scored 17 off 14 balls and returned to the pavilion on the ball of Mohammad Irfan.
Karachi Kings’ third wicket total of 43, Colin Ingram scored 3 off 11 balls and gave the wicket to Saqib Mahmood.
Meanwhile, Afghan all-rounders Mohammad Nabi and Babar Azam played aggressive shorts around the wicket, leaving the opposition bowlers helpless. Meanwhile, poor fielding by Peshawar Zalmi also played an important role in the Kings’ victory.
Mohammad Nabi’s innings was ended by Saqib Mahmood, the Afghan all-rounder batted smoky and was dismissed for 67 off 35 balls.
Karachi Kings completed the target at a loss of 4 wickets in the last overs. Babar Azam remained unbeaten on 77 while Christian remained unbeaten on 14. Saqib Mahmood took two wickets.

When Zalmai openers Kamran Akmal and Tom Kohler came to the crease at the beginning of the match, they tried to put pressure on the opposing bowlers by playing aggressive shots. Kamran Akmal scored 21 runs with the help of 4 fours to catch Abbas Afridi. Tom Kohler followed suit and returned to the pavilion. If captain Shoaib Malik came on the field, he could make only 1 run, he was dismissed by Muhammad Ilyas. Haider Ali gave 9 runs. Thus, Peshawar Zalmi had lost 4 wickets for 69 runs.
Ravi Bopara and Sharfeen Rutherford supported Zalmai’s batting line. Shafreen played brilliant boundary shots and scored 46 runs with the help of 3 sixes and 3 fours. He was caught by Mohammad Ilyas.
Ravi Bopara remained unbeaten on 58 while Emad Butt remained unbeaten on 27. In the allotted overs, Peshawar Zalmi scored 188 runs against Karachi Kings. Mohammad Ilyas and Abbas Afridi took two wickets each.
