The second match of the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League is being played between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi at the National Stadium Karachi on Sunday.
Islamabad captain Shadab Khan won the toss and invited Peshawar Zalmi to bat first.
Karachi Kings defeated Multan Sultans by 7 wickets
Earlier in the day, Karachi Kings defeated Multan Sultans by seven wickets.
Multan Sultan gave the Karachi Kings a target of 196 and the Kings batsmen completed it in 18.5 overs.
Captain Babar Azam scored 90 off 60 balls to ensure the victory.
Kings opener Sharjeel Khan also played well but he fell victim to Shahnawaz Dahani and returned to the pavilion. Joe Clarke made 54 off 26 balls while playing aggressively but he too was piled up by Shahnawaz.
Ingram had not yet recovered when he was dismissed by Sohail Khan.
Earlier, Multan Sultans had given a run target to Karachi Kings to win. Batting first, Multan Sultans scored 195 runs in the allotted 20 overs with six wickets in hand.
Captain Muhammad Rizwan and Chris Lane started the innings for Multan Sultans. After Chris Lane scored 32 runs, Emad Wasim was caught on the ball. Babar Azam caught them.
Mohammad Rizwan once again batted responsibly and played an innings of 43 runs. Muhammad Nabi caught Arshad Iqbal’s ball.
James Vance was dismissed for an individual score of 45. Arshad Iqbal’s ball was caught by Ingram. Russo returned to the pavilion after scoring just seven runs, being bowled by Daniel Christian.
Khush Dil Shah was bowled by Waqas Maqsood for an individual score of just 6. Shahid Afridi could make only three wickets, Mohammad Nabi’s ball was caught by Mohammad Nabi.
