Quetta Gladiators set a target of 122 runs to beat Karachi Kings

KARACHI: Quetta Gladiators have given a target of 122 runs to the Karachi Kings in the opening match of PSL.

Defending champions Karachi Kings have decided to field against Quetta Gladiators after winning the toss in the opening match of Pakistan Super League. In response, Tom Bunton and Sarfraz Ahmed started the innings for Quetta but both the openers did not give a good start. Tom Benton was out for a total score of just 6, after which captain Sarfraz also returned to the pavilion with 7 runs.

After the openers were out, Chris Gayle resisted the Karachi bowlers and scored 39 runs, but he was also out on a total score of 68, while Muhammad Nawaz was run out shortly after only 3 runs.

Azam Khan scored 17 and Ben Cutting scored only 11 runs for Quetta. Due to the superb bowling of Karachi Kings, no player of Quetta could stand on the wicket for long and the entire team was bowled out for 121 runs in 18.2 overs.

The Karachi Kings team includes captain Emad Wasim, Babar Azam, Sharjeel Khan, Colin Ingram, Joe Clark, Mohammad Nabi, Dean Christian, Amir Yameen, Waqas Maqsood, Mohammad Amir, and Arshad Iqbal, while Quetta Gladiators captain Sarfraz Ahmed, Chris Gayle, Tom Benton, Azam Khan, Salem Ayub, Ben Cutting, Muhammad Nawaz, Muhammad Hasnain, Qais Ahmed, Naseem Shah, and Usman Shinwari.
