SUKKUR: Sindh High Court (SHC) Sukkur Bench Judge Justice Aftab Ahmed told the court during the hearing that Sindh ministers were threatening to launch rocket launchers and withhold salaries to put pressure on them.
The Sindh High Court Sukkur Bench disposed of the case by withdrawing the decision to suspend the membership of Faryal Talpur and Gyan Chand Israni on the incidents of dog bites in Sindh. During the hearing, Judge Aftab Ahmed Gorar revealed that he had been threatened and said that the ministers wanted to put pressure on him. One of the ministers said that the judge would be hit by a rocket launcher.
Justice Aftab Ahmed said, “I pass through Larkana every day. Put rockets on me and do not even threaten to cut my salaries.”
Farooq H Naik termed intimidation as mischief. The court in its remarks said that if elected representatives could not stop such incidents, they should not come to the areas. It is said that killing a dog is a sin. Is it a reward to bite a dog? He said that now if someone was bitten by a dog, the Sindh government would compensate the loss while in case of death of someone, the price of the head would be paid.
The court rejected the official report and directed the secretary of local government to issue a written statement stating that 40 UC secretaries, nine TMOs, and a CMO had been suspended.
