ISLAMABAD: The federal government has reduced the price of LPG by Rs 14 per kg, the new price of LPG for April has been reduced to Rs 145 64 paise, while the price of the domestic cylinder has been reduced to Rs 1884 92 paise. According to details, OGRA has issued a notification to reduce the price of LPG by Rs 14 per kg. The notification said that the price of LPG has been reduced by Rs 14 per kg for April as compared to March.

The new price of LPG for April has been fixed at Rs 145.64 per kg. Similarly, the domestic LPG cylinder has been reduced by Rs 166.33 paise from April 1. The price of a domestic LPG cylinder for March was fixed at Rs. 1884.92. But for April, the new price of 11.8 kg domestic LPG cylinder has been fixed at Rs 1,718.59.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Finance has announced a reduction in the prices of petroleum products for the next fortnight from April 1.

On the recommendation of OGRA, the Finance Ministry has reduced the price of diesel by Rs 3 per liter. Petrol has been reduced by Rs1.55 per liter, light diesel by Rs1.56 per liter, and kerosene by Rs55 per liter. Following the reduction in prices of petroleum products, the new price of petrol was fixed at Rs 110.35 per liter, diesel at Rs 113.8 per liter.

The new prices of petroleum products will take effect from 12 noon tonight, the statement said. Earlier, Finance Minister Hamad Azhar had said in a press conference that he would reduce the price of petrol and diesel. The price of diesel will be reduced by Rs 3 per liter. He further said that it has been decided to import sugar from India as the price of sugar is lower than in Pakistan.

India will import 500,000 tonnes of sugar. The private sector has been allowed to import 500,000 metric tonnes of sugar from India. The price of sugar in India and Pakistan is Rs 15-20 per kg. He said that the import of cotton from India for small-scale industries would be opened till the end of June. It has been decided to fix the price of wheat at 1800 manats.
