KARACHI: Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed concern over the registration of terrorism case against Sindh Opposition Leader Haleem Adil Sheikh.
According to BBC WN TODAY, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail telephoned Prime Minister Imran Khan and informed him about the arrest of Sindh Opposition Leader Haleem Adil Sheikh.
Governor Sindh said that a case of terrorism has been registered against opposition leader Haleem Adil Sheikh. The Prime Minister expressed concern over the registration of a terrorism case against Haleem Adil.
However, the Prime Minister also expressed anger over the presence of snakes in the Opposition Leader’s room and said that there should be an inquiry into the presence of snakes in the Opposition Leader’s room.
Referring to the attitude of the police towards Haleem Adil, Governor Sindh told the Prime Minister that the IG Sindh was acting on the instructions of the provincial government. The attitude of the IG Sindh was biased.
It may be recalled that on February 16, during the by-election in PS 88 constituency of Malir area of Karachi, on the orders of the Returning Officer, SSP Malir Irfan Bahadur reached the polling station No. 77 of Ghulam Hussain Goth where Haleem Adil Sheikh and PT IK workers were present, SSP Malir informed them of the ECP order and tried to take them away, but the workers resisted and refused to leave the constituency, but after talks, police officials called Haleem Adil Sheikh. They managed to get there. Haleem Adil Sheikh is currently in police custody on physical remand.
